This spring maternity session on Raccoon Mountain in Chattanooga, TN was full of laughter, soft light, and so much connection. It was such a beautiful way to capture this season before everything changes in the best kind of way.


This sweet family session at Raccoon Mountain was full of laughter, light, and a whole lot of heart. The Core family is expecting baby number two, and it was such a joy to capture this special in-between season, before life changes again in the best kind of way.


We started the evening bathed in the most beautiful golden hour sunlight. Everything glowed, from the mountain backdrop to their perfectly coordinated outfits. As we wandered through fields and hills, their little boy led the way with so much personality and excitement. He was an amazing participant, always ready with a smile and handing his mama little treasures like wildflowers and rocks. At one point, he told us he was on a mission to find dinosaurs, and honestly, we were all in on the hunt.


Partway through the session, the sky began to shift. Soft clouds rolled in, bringing a gorgeous, moody tone to the rest of our time together. It created such a rich contrast to the warm start, and just as I pulled into my driveway afterward, the sky opened up in a full-on downpour. Perfect timing.


After the session, I received the kindest note from Mom:


“We had the best time and even better results. Alexis was so easy to work with and plan with. My husband was unusually blown away by results and eager to book again. My three year old son is still raving about her and how much fun he had with his ‘new friend Alexis.’”


It’s moments like these that remind me why I do what I do. Freezing time for growing families who want to remember not just what this season looked like, but how it felt.
